Online poker regulations in Nevada moved forward today after regulators officially adopted the Minimum Internal Control Standards for intrastate online poker in the state. The 31 page document covers various areas of internal controls including the setup of player accounts, funding and withdrawing from accounts, network security, auditing procedures, and even how celebrity accounts are handled.
Naturally, the most pertinent information for those looking to play online poker in Nevada is setting up player accounts and how to fund those accounts. Players may register online or in person at the host casino property. Both residents of Nevada and tourists will be able to play within the state, but they must submit the following information:
A player will then go through a verification process which will last up to 30 days. During this time, they will be able to play online sites, but will be not be able to deposit more than $5,000 and they will not be able to withdraw funds.
Once a player is verified, they can request a withdrawal either online or in person at the host casino property. Player-to-player transfers will not be permitted. Also, should a player fail to pass verification, they will forfeit any winning in their poker account and be refunded their deposit.

A timeframe has not been established for when online poker will begin inNevada, but at the rate things are unfolding, it well may be before the Summer.
